In our class, we value each other and the contributions that we all bring to group discussions and lessons. We are determined to succeed at everything we do by giving all we’ve got and acting upon advice that we are given from both our peers and adults in the classroom.
As reading is the key to success, we take it very seriously in Bassenthwaite, from engaging in challenging guided reading texts such as the classics by Charles Dickens to embarking on our Minion Reading Race, which encourages us to read as often as possible with adults and other children at home.
However, we recognise that it’s not about hard work! To reward our efforts in class, we let our hair down on a Friday afternoon to participate in our class X-Factor! We’re a talented bunch and showcase these talents by singing, dancing, telling jokes or have even been known to occasionally beatbox!
Let’s hear from a few of the children in Bassenthwaite to see what they think:
Katie W: ‘We challenge ourselves every day to work hard and have fun!’
Kayden: ‘We look out for each other to make sure everybody is doing okay.’
Archie: ‘I love being part of Bassenthwaite and just being me!’
