During June, we have been very scientific! Year 5 students visited UCC for an exciting and thrilling morning of Science. As soon as we were greeted at UCC and entered the Science block, we knew things were going to be different!
We split into three groups and became stuck into hands-on experiments: extracting DNA from strawberries and making a protective space craft for an egg! It was exciting to use a range of scientific and other technical equipment in the labs – it really built upon what we had discovered at the Life Centre in Newcastle and was a great taster for what science will be like when we go to secondary school. Make sure you visit our class pages to see pictures form this great morning! Thank you UCC!
