Hello! And welcome to Coniston Class page. Coniston class is a busy mixed class of Year 3 and 4 children. We have a fantastic class room, which is huge and full of displays showing our work.
In our class we love ICT, singing, Literacy and Numeracy, topic work and PE. We have our very own sport coach Miss Potter, who works with us on Tuesday afternoons with Mrs Sewell. Miss Hayes is our class teacher, she is also PE co-ordinator and takes us out to compete in Intra School competitions. She also runs Netball after school club on a Monday and Gymnastics on a Friday morning! We are also taught French by Mrs Clark every week- Tres bien!
We really enjoy taking our learning into our environment and getting out and about. So far this year we have; visited Carlisle Wetlands; had a fantastic day at Darlington Civic Theatre to watch Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; watched The Tour of Britain, (cheering on Bradley Wiggins!); had a visit from Cleopatra and Zoo lab; visited Booths to learn about Fairtrade, had a tour of Saisbury's to learn about food groups and healthy eating; and been on an adventure with Pip the Pipistrelle bat at Lowther Castle! We are very much looking forward to the warmer weather so we can plan our next learning experience!
In Coniston class we really love reading. We spend half an hour everyday, either reading with Miss Hayes, reading with our study buddies, exploring our own interests in books from our school library and sometimes even E-books! Every term we are set a new reading challenge- this year we have had an Egyptian and Kilimanjaro reading challenges! We believe Kids who read SUCCEED!!
We hope you enjoy looking at the photographs of our learning!
