Y3&4 were involved in a Robotics workshops with Tony (from STEM Cumbria) this term. He discussed many types of robots with us, shared videos of Asimo (a robot designed by Honda) and taught us about many businesses in Cumbria that use Robotics.
We had challenges set by Tony, we had to use a robotic arm to move small objects into a plastic cup! Although this appeared easy, accuracy and speed were a challenge! We designed our own Robots, they had to help us in some way. Year 3/4 designs included a robot to do your homework, one to go to school for you (with a video link to your bedroom) and a robot to be your slave! I wonder how many years it will take for these original ideas to be created!
