Year 6 Crummock Water

Our class song:

We are the Year 6 of this class,

We are resilient and first-class.

We take risks and we’re cool –

We’ll rock this school,

Working together to achieve our goals!

Crum-mock, Crum-mock Water!

Crum-mock, Crum-mock Water!

In Crummock Water, we believe learning should be fun and laugh on every single day of our learning journey. We are a community of learners and support each other to ensure that we all move forwards in one direction – to achieve the best we can possibly be! We all have a voice in Crummock Water, promoting democracy and fairness in everything that we do. Our school councillors help us achieve this further afield in the wider school setting. Here are this year’s class councillors:

Main councillors: Kai and Kate

Shadow councillors: Darius and Summer

This year, we are having a real focus on reading, as being a successful reader impacts the progress we make across all areas of the curriculum. Consequently, we aim to read every night for at least 10 minutes, trying to read with an adult 3 times a week. This time is essential, as it allows us to discuss our predictions, thoughts and ideas about what we have read and hear a challenging perspective.

Our topics this term include World War One, Space and Materials and their Properties. We are looking forward to the opportunities to explore local history in our area, and how the Great War impacted local families, possibly even our own! Science has become a huge focus in school this year and in Crummock Water we are taking this really seriously, ensuring that we explore and challenge our scientific skill set through a range of investigations and experiments about the world around us.

Here’s to a fabulous year in Year 6!
