We are a class of 24 children and we pride ourselves on being inclusive and diverse! In our class we have been discussing our hopes and dreams for the future which we wrote down onto ‘super stars’ to display around the classroom. In addition to carrying on working hard on core subject areas, the children spoke about a desire to develop their life skills including wanting to do some more baking when appropriate. As a class we aim to achieve this ambition over the following year.
We are excited to be going swimming every Thursday and cannot wait to improve our abilities in each lesson. We are taught P.E by Mr Gibson and we have been thoroughly enjoying Hockey so far this term. Mrs Sewell is our Teaching Assistant who is a brilliant help within the classroom. We work closely alongside many other adults in school and we are a great collaborative team.
Our class novel at the moment is Gangsta Granny by David Walliams and we cannot wait to base some of our Literacy work around this story. We are excellent readers in Windermere and children are expected to read at home as much as possible during the week, to ensure good progress. Asking children questions about what they have been reading improves reading comprehension skills. We are having a big push on this at the moment while reading our exciting and funny class read.
