This term Year 3&4 Science and Design Technology topics came together through some special STEM workshops led by Nick from Junior STEM. He taught the children how to build designs from Lego, then program them using a tablet.
To begin with, they started by experimenting with programming and motors by creating a spinning design. The next stage was to make it original. Creativity was developed in their designs. Once the basics were grasped they begin their Lego lion designs. Carefully following 34 step-by-step instructions, the children built their animals. Then they programmed them to move, change colour, make a noise and play a photo. Everyone really enjoyed their sessions, linking Science, Technology, Computing, Engineering and Mathematics in a fun workshop. We definitely discovered some future engineers amongst us! Well done to all.
