Welcome to Bassenthwaite class. We are a fabulous and unique year 6 class with a love for learning. Our teacher is Mrs Clark and Ms Murray teaches us on a Tuesday afternoon. We are also lucky to have Mrs Osborne and Miss Holmes to help support us to make the most of our learning during the week.
On Monday we have PE with Mr Hoyle, and on Wednesday's we have Miss Monk to coach us.
Bassenthwaite is a very helpful class and who love to be given responsibilities. We all get a chance to help at lunchtimes by serving salad from the salad bar and we also have other jobs throughout school such as reading out VIPs in assemblies and sports leaders. Our elected school council representatives are Alex and Holly and our shadow representatives are Ethan and Erica who are always ready to support when the need arises. We encourage everyone to share their ideas and suggestions with these representatives as we value children's voice in school.
We recognise that reading is the key to success and we take reading very seriously in Bassenthwaite, from engaging in challenging class texts such as Cogheart to 'striving for 5' reads at home every week.
We also work hard in our learning to develop the 5Rs -Relationships, Resilience, Resourcefulness, Reflecting and Risk Taking. All these skills are important ingredients to success in our learning at North Lakes School. We love to be enquirers too, Philosophizing and constantly asking questions about many aspects of our learning and life.
