Spring Choir News (April 2014)

The spring term is North Lakes School Choir's time to take a well earned break, however that is not to say that they haven't been doing anything!! Although we have not had any major events this term, the choir and its new singing leaders have been busy preparing material for National Sing Up Day and Sport Relief. They will soon be preparing for ‘The Big Sing Marches for Peace’ in July at Sage Gateshead.

On Sport Relief Day, the choir had pride of place in Sainsbury’s Penrith store, entertaining the Friday shoppers with a number of roof raising numbers including 'Step it Up for Sport Relief'! Although the children were adorned in Sport Relief Kit, it was clear that it was North Lakes School performing - well done to everyone and thank you to everyone who came along to support us and donate towards Sainsbury’s Sports Relief Collection. The children also took part in a special 'Flash Mob' alongside Sainsbury's store staff. Thanks also go to Tony Gale & Alison Morton from Sainsbury’s for inviting us.

"When I went to sing at Sainsbury's, I was worried and excited! Although I have sung in front of people before. I always get scared before the performance. Once we started, the nerves disappeared. I love singing and have learned so much joining North Lakes. Singing at Sainsbury's is a moment I'll never forget!" (Alice Y6)
