Sing Up Day was very different this year however we raised the roof with the sound of ‘Platinum’ singing in our Bubbles on Wednesday 30th June as we proudly flew our flag for Sing Up Day 2021.
This year, the day began with warm ups in our classrooms to get our whole bodies geared up for singing. Classes then joined a
special online session with Emily Barden the composer of this year’s Sing Up Day song ‘We are Unstoppable!’
From the moment children arrived at school until the end of the day, our timetable was packed with choruses from our favourite songs. Other Sing Up Day activities included singing in the playground and the announcement of our new singing leaders who are: Noah B, Sienna, Finlay, Jack S, Anastasija K, Grace, Daria and Asher. They join our current singing leaders: Oscar, Brooke, Isobel, Stefan, Cameron, Aidan E, Oliver M, Lola N, Abi and Leoni.
During the day, Rydal Water went ‘Live on Facebook’ so we could share some of our singing with our parents and some bubbles recorded the song to be sent off to Sing Up HQ in London to be included the National Digi-choir.
Singing is a free instrument and everyone has one! Everyone was able to take part in a very inclusive day, and next year we plan to hold the Sing Up Day Singathon again (postponed from this year) We have continued to sing in our classes and at home during this year and we cannot wait to get back to our twice weekly whole school sings in September! Thank you to everyone who made this day a success. You can continue to sing at home visit the links on our Home Learning Links site and log onto Charanga.
