CRU Phunky Foods (Jul 2022)

Y5&6 were treated to an exciting experience, teaching them how to create their own healthy pizza from basic ingredients, from scratch! Every food group was part of the process as bases were mixed from a flour and yoghurt dough (along with some VERY gluey hands), smeared generously with tasty tomatoes and sprinkled with low fat mozzarella cheese, finally topped with an assortment of courgette, peppers,  mushrooms, sweetcorn and herbs. The last, most professional touch was assembling the cute pizza box to take it home in, along with the  recipe and cooking instructions.


All the children asked, described their pizza as “the best yet”, “delicious” or “everyone wanted some!” The children worked superbly during the process and many learned a lot, experienced new techniques and enjoyed the pizza making process, led by Jill from Phunky Foods. A great real-life skill session. Thank you to all those involved in such a healthy, tasty, creative afternoon!
