Children in Year 3 and 4 were given a fantastic opportunity to work with Professional dance teacher Alison Horn this term. They experimented with many different levels and styles of movement as they extended their Geography topic about Rivers through P.E. Their bodies twisted, turned, flew and flowed to the music creating watery motifs akin to a raging river. The contemporary, creative style of dance allowed for lots of freedom of expression and the children even came up with their own imaginative choreography. Waves rippled forwards and backwards, stones tumbled and whirlpools swirled. They worked together to create sequences in canon as well as performing in unison as a class ensemble. The finished pieces were quite something to watch and the children thoroughly enjoyed their experience.
