On Tuesday 17th October our Y5&6 Choir travelled to Rheged IMAX Cinema to take part in the BlueJam Voices Big Sing at the Big Screen. During the half term the children had taken part in a songwriting workshop with Jilly Jarman composing a song about children working in New Lanark Mill.
During the event at Rheged we were taken on a journey around the world with the Gamelan Orchestra. At the event, we joined Alston and Nenthead, Bewcastle, Beaconside, Robert Ferguson and Kingmoor Junior – to name but a few! Each school showcased their own song or instrumental piece as well as singing group numbers.
We were also lucky to be part of the World Voice Residency welcoming singers from Rwanda to join us in school. These events were supported by BlueJam Arts and Cumbria Music Hub.
