In Buttermere our year threes are getting to know their new school with the help of our year fours who are excellent role models. The year fours are even helping Mr Miller find his way around, as it is his first year at the school as well! We take care of one another in Buttermere, always thinking of North Lake’s Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would want to be treated.
Our book for this term is Stig of the Dump, which we have all been enjoying together in our reciprocal reading lessons. To go alongside this in history, we have been looking at life in the Stone Age, finding out about how they lived, what they ate, and all the different tools they used.
In science and geography, we’re thinking about rocks and the earth, from earthquakes to chalk cliffs, and we’ll be taking part in lots of experiments as the year goes on. We’ve also got exciting PE lessons both outdoors and in the hall.
In Buttermere we love books and strive to read five times at home. Reading is exercise for your brain, so the more you can do, the stronger your brain will get!
Homework will be available on Frog, and the children have already had a look at where to find things.
Our School councillors are Noah and Elif, who made truly excellent speeches in our class election. Well done to the both of them, I am certain they will make excellent councillors.
