Y6 Deekabout with Rachel in Borrowdale (Summer 2010)

Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed our Deekabout experience in Borrowdale. Tracing the journey of Millican Dalton through the forest each group was responsible for recreating that journey as groups. Some fantastic dance moves were created at different levels.

Daniel , Nathan, Liam and Daniel H recreated movements which were symbolic of his past life in hectic London and this life in sedate Borrowdale.
We visited the cave. It was extraordinary.  Imagine, Millican Dalton lived there for 20  years and he was self sufficient. He just went  into Keswick to buy coffee.
The words on the cave wall, ‘Don’t waste words, jump to conclusions’ have made us all reflect . . .
Why did he withdraw from society?
