As part of our Tudor topic this team, Year 5&6 classes took part in a special themed day. We came to school in Tudor outfits, and participated in a court dancing workshop with Miss Dixon from UCC. We enjoyed some Tudor activities in class, ate a themed meal prepared specially by Mrs Cousin at lunchtime, and we enjoyed some “16th century” baking.
Our outfits were original and gave a real impression of old costumes. We really enjoyed the court dancing, with music from the Tudor period too. Our scones and biscuits were delicious, thanks to all of the teaching assistants who helped with our baking.
Buttermere class created their own Tudor menus for rich and poor, as the food was so different then - just imagine, rich people actually ate swan! We really enjoyed our Tudor day, learning so much about past times and having fun too.
