Y5 Outdoor Day (Jun 22)

Year 5 students were lucky with the weather on their recent trip into The Lake District. Taking part in an Outdoor Day is always fun yet challenging as we take risks, experience new learning and dig deep to be resilient and successful in our activities. Trying new things too is a Secret of Success and we certainly did this as we ventured out to Patterdale to begin our day.

Real Adventure, an outdoor company regularly used by school, provided us with some excellent activities. A Ghyll Scramble up Cold Cove Beck in Deepdale proved challenging and yes, we did all end up going for a swim at the end. Our second activity was a rock climb on Oxford Crag. Belaying, abseiling and scrambling to a great height tested most of us but the feeling of success and accomplishment was one we will cherish for a long time.

‘I really like the ghyll scramble. Jumping in was fun and scary at the same time’.  Daniel A

‘I really enjoyed the day; it was fun and challenging and really made me think’  Chloe C

‘The view of  Ullswater from a great height, dangling on the end of a rope   was amazing‘  Anastasija
