Y4 Hockey Tournament (Spring 2022)
The Eden Valley Sports Partnership organised a Y4 Hockey Tournament. The excitement was immense as for many children, it was their first inter-school competitive event. Elterwater and Coniston both enjoyed a fast and furious five games at the Penrith Leisure Centre.
In Quicksticks Hockey, there are only four players on the pitch, two girls and two boys, so the skill of running up and down the pitch, controlling the ball, tackling, defending and determination are essential qualities from each player. The team spirit and hard work was brilliant! The Coniston team won enough matches to qualify for the next round. With great excitement, they played at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School. They amazingly won the first four matches and were super shattered when they set off on their final game…which they lost to the winning team of the tournament. Kirkby Stephen Primary won.
North Lakes came a hard earned second. Most importantly, the team worked tremendously hard together and had a great time. Thank you to all those involved in organizing the event.
