On Friday 26th January, Windermere had a Viking afternoon. We had a lovely time making fires and bread, tasting Viking bread, pretending to be Anglo-Saxons preparing to fight Vikings and listening to how the Vikings survived over 1000 years ago. We learned how they would start a fire using dried grass, flint and wood before we got a chance to set alight some cotton wool. Giorgio’s favourite part of the Viking afternoon was making and eating the bread. Harrison’s favourite part was learning how to make bread and Andra thoroughly enjoyed staring a fire!
