Victorian Ceilidh (Oct 2013)

The first half term began very energetically with Y5&6 having Ceilidh dancing lessons with Sally Hardaker.

She worked with us each Wednesday afternoon and we learned 4 to 5 dances. Our enthusiasm at the beginning was varied, some of us were quite sceptical - and holding hands was initially quite traumatic!

Over the course of 5 weeks reluctant dancers began to enjoy it and actually looked forward to the sessions.

The ‘Finale’ was Ceilidh dancing with Sally as the caller, she was accompanied by a real Ceilidh band. We invited Grandparents and were able to share our Ceilidh dancing with them - one or two grandparents actually joined in! We also baked scones to share with our visitors after their energetic observing or dancing.

A big Thank You to everyone who came and joined in - and to Sally and the musicians.
