Ullswater -Y3&4

We are a class of Year 3 and 4 pupils who enjoy learning.  We have had a successful start to the new school year; already our classroom is looking bright and exciting.  Our class teachers is Mrs Greenwood and Mrs Clark works with Ullswater on a Monday afternoon and on a Thursday.  They make our learning fun and enjoyable.  Miss Ridley and Mrs Pincombe are also around Ullswater classroom, helping us learn and achieve our best.  At times during the year, we will work with Mr Hart and Mrs Sewell who are the sports coaches, keeping us fit and promoting a healthy lifestyle is top of their agenda!

Throughout the year, we are aiming to build our learning power so we will often hear our teachers talking about ‘learning muscles’ and offering us a range of strategies we can use to become lifelong, powerful learners.  We follow the 5 B’s – a strategy we use when we might become stuck in our learning. Brain, Board, Book, Buddy, Boss!

In Ullswater we work hard in our learning to develop the 5Rs -Relationships, Resilience, Resourcefulness, Reflecting and Risk taking.  All skills are important ingredients to success in our learning at North Lakes School. We are enquirers too, being philosophical and constantly asking questions about many aspects of our learning and life.  There is never a quiet moment in our classroom!  We will also be sharing our learning on our Frog VLE  – watch out for our Proud Pieces!

To complement our learning at school we have a homework schedule and we keep ourselves organised.  Sumdog is a fun way to keep our maths skills sharp.  In lessons, we are developing a mastery approach in our maths learning, promoting enquiring minds to gain a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.

We are looking forward to the year ahead in Ullswater class, we will work together to create a great learning atmosphere.  Our class councillors, +++++++and shadows, +++++++++will be working as hard as they can to help make life at North Lakes a fun and challenging experience.
