n Thursday 30th June a very excited thirty-five children from Years 4 to 6 hopped onto a coach to Kirkby Stephen Grammar School, along with three teachers and two very supportive adults. We were in three separate teams and competed against seven other teams at the event. Every team had its own colour and competed in running also field events. Every child participated in at least four events. The afternoon was busy but superb: children shook hands to wish a competitor “good luck”, cheered their school friends on and worked very hard! There were many exhausted, elated and proud faces. The final placings for North Lakes were 2nd, 3rd and 6th. However, the team spirit and enthusiasm was worth at least a gold medal if it were the Olympics. Well done team North Lakes!
