Safer Internet Day (Feb 2016)

On Tuesday 9th February, North Lakes joined hundreds of other organisations across the UK and celebrated Safer Internet Day to promote the safe and responsible use of technology.

To celebrate the day, we held a special assembly, explored our school esafety rules, sang a special esafety song called ‘Be Safe’ and learned about esafety in special Digital Literacy lessons during the week.  This year, Safer Internet Day 2016’s theme was ‘Play your part for a better internet’, offering the opportunity to focus on both the creative and positive things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we can all play in helping to create a better internet.

Esafety awareness at North Lakes doesn’t stop in the classroom –it is extended to our wider community with a dedicated ‘Keeping Safe’ section on our school website. We also use ‘Whisper’ from the South West Grid for Learning, which is an online anonymous reporting tool.  Visit Our Keeping Safe page on our Website.
