This term Year 3&4 have been lucky enough to work with Eden Rivers Trust learning about our local rivers and the human impact on them. All classes worked with educational co-ordinators Andy and Jenni in class; finding out about the interesting (if not a little strange!) creatures which live in and around our local rivers within our local environment.
We then got our feet wet (some more than others!) on a field trip to the River Eamont at Stainton river dipping! We were all amazed at the variety and quantity of invertebrates which live in our rivers. We hope we have inspired a love for rivers and brought awareness of how important it is to look after our environment. Remember there are some summer holiday workshops happening during July and August at Tullie House.
