In religious education we aim to provide an introduction to the religious and spiritual areas of life experiences and particularly to the Christian tradition. There is a collective act of worship held in school each day, either for the whole school, or for each year group. These assemblies reflect Christian traditions, but also take account of other principal religions. Children explore their own ideas about religion, as well as expressing their own thoughts and feelings through Philosophy for Children. We believe religious education to be a vital part of our curriculum. We also encourage visits from local church leaders and clergy to take school assemblies.
Emphasis is placed in learning from religion, as well as learning about religion. However, if any parent wishes to withdraw their child from assemblies, or religious education groups, they should give notice of this in writing to the Headteacher.
