Red Nose Day (Mar 2022)

Friday 18 March was Red Nose Day! Our pupils went to great lengths and looked fantastic! We had a variety of outfits, with many superheroes, wacky costumes, wigs and accessories. Red was certainly the ‘colour’ of the day!

Each class was excited as talents were shared.  There were singers, comedians, gymnasts, dancers and magicians. There was something for everyone. We loved to watch the entertainment!  Some of our talents had been practised and were faultless, including magic tricks which were very well presented. Assembly featured the best jokes from around the school and some of the jokes were priceless!

Lots of parents gave generously to the event and our collection was kept open on Lunch Shop until the end of term. The school’s online total will be shared next term . As a nation we raised £42.4 million-a staggering amount, passing the milestone of £1.5 billion raised by Comic Relief in 37 years.

Money raised by Red Nose Day this year will support people in the UK and around the world to live free from poverty, violence and discrimination, and support people with their mental health. Some of the money will also go to organisations providing essential support for people in Ukraine and supporting Comic Relief’s funding to help refugees in other parts of the world.

We had been hoping to have a Zumba day; sadly this had to be cancelled due to Covid illness - but all is not lost as we can still look forward to our day of fitness later this year!
