Years 5 and 6 visited Penrith museum as part of their Victorians project.
We handled Victorian artefacts including animal traps, a police truncheon, beer bottles, ice skates, sugar tongs, a wrestling belt and some original Victorian clothing. We made rubbings from Victorian iron works made in forges in the town; we saw a penny farthing, completed a timeline for Victorian Penrith and gathered evidence from a Victorian artist’s paintings.
There were a wealth of resources just on our doorstep!
We all enjoyed our visits and thank Karen for teaching us so much about Victorian Penrith.
