It’s Official!  NLS win the Cumbria Sumdog Maths Contest for the second time this year!

Rydal Water Maths Group have steamed into 1st place (for the second time this year) winning the competition with 428 points overtaking the leaders – Gosforth Primary.  Elterwater Maths Group took 3rd place with 329 points, Ullswater Maths Group were 5th, Windermere Maths Group 6th, Buttermere Maths Group 7th and Coniston Math Group 8th.  This is a fantastic achievement to have every class in the Cumbria Top 10!  Daily winners in the contest were Coniston – 17th March, Rydal - 18th March and Elterwater 19th March!

The celebrating doesn’t stop there either as North Lakes had 34 of the top 50 students in Cumbria.  Each competitor could answer a maximum of 1000 questions each.  Abbie B was 2nd getting 917 correct, Layla 3rd (899), Reon 4th (882), Adie 5th (880), Ellie S 9th (860) Abby H 10th (804).

We are so proud of everyone who has taken part in this competition – each participant received a special Myths and Legends Sumdog outfit for their avatar and as the winners, Rydal Water have won a free 30 pupil subscription for the school!

Children need to visit Sumdog on a regular basis as it helps to develop and revise their basic Maths and Literacy Skills - it really does help to sharpen our skills and most of all it is fun.
