After the Christmas break, all classes will be participating in active learning during their maths sessions. Maths of the Day raises attainment and attitudes towards maths through active lesson planning. It is a way of working promoting the health and well-being of children as well as enhancing their mathematical skills.
This is a real fun way to engage the children in their maths learning as well as keep them fit and work towards the national agenda of every child taking part in an hour’s physical activity a day – half of this to take place in school time with the other half outside of the school day. Some classes have been trialling the lessons this term and the children have really enjoyed them. Watch this space for further details next term.
