Lowther Castle Fun [July 2018]
Several children from North Lakes enjoyed a day at Lowther Castle. We were joined by two new children who will be using the ‘Grasmere’ resource area from September.
Lowther castle is a fantastic facility and the children enjoyed looking at the flowers and the mini beasts. The children particularly enjoyed investigating the wooden adventure castle. As a safe and enclosed area, the children could be fairly independent as they were safe from cars, vehicles and other dangers.
The castle and adventures were challenging. The children were expected to carry their belongings, walk independently, make choices, listen, observe, copy and take a risk. They were challenged in a very different environment.
A good day was enjoyed by everyone and an ice–cream was a very welcome treat!
