Kwik Cricket (Summer 2013)
North Lakes took a team of Year 6 boys and girls to the Penrith Kwik Cricket tournament at the Cricket Club on Wednesday 22nd May. This was early in the season and our team were still developing and improving their skills, but the children enjoyed a sunny day and loved the chance to compete with teams from other local schools.
Kwik Cricket is a fast exciting game and North Lakes showed some good batting skills, tidy and skilful fielding. We found that we need to work on our bowling, but the team encouraged each other well and played three games in the morning. They beat Stainton and lost narrowly to Clifton and were then beaten by a strong Kirkoswald team in the final match.
Well done to Anthea, Alisha, Maisie, Kennadie, Tom S, Liam S, Ben T, Matthew L, Harry M and Luke for representing the school very well – we hope you will keep developing your cricket skills next year at your new schools!
