North Lakes has yet again had great success with its gymnastics teams. Both Miss Hayes and Mrs Clark have been running a gymnastics club over the course of this term, With such a high standard of gymnasts within both clubs, we were able to enter the Penrith district Key Steps Competition held at the Leisure Centre on the 28th February.

Both the Y3/4 teams and the Y5/6 team performed with outstanding skill, accuracy and flair in all 3 disciplines of Body Management, Floor Routine and the Vault.

Team 2 of the Year 3/4 team (Chloe, Jordan, Emily, Layla, Jessica and Charlotte) even managed to qualify to the next stage, this time competing successfully against all the qualifying schools within the Eden district on 7th March.

Y5/6 recently went to Penrith Leisure Centre for the Gym competition. We had practised our routines, floor, body and vault work in our club before hand.  Lots of hours work went into our performance. We came third and were pleased with our efforts. In our gym club we have been getting the apparatus out and working on routines on the climbing frame and benches and bridges. We have been performing our routines to each other and working on performing as gymnasts. - James E
