At North Lakes School, we realise with reaching beyond Penrith and Cumbria, and exposing our pupils to the wider world.
Our curriculum makes creative use of exploring global issues, with our most recent U Dance showcase exploring the pain, loss and hope involved throughout the journey of refugee.
The school has links with Uru Primary School in Tanzania and we are currently in the process of developing fresh links with a contrasting British city school with a high proportion of ethnic minorities for our pupils to get a different perspective of school life in England.
In 2016 North Lakes School children travelled to France and further exchanges are planned while contact is maintained through online communication. These links help us to learn more about our place in the world, to appreciate similarities and value difference, while also learning a modern foreign language (French).
