Harvest (Oct 13)

At Harvest Time we gave thanks for the gift of sight. Mrs Knox shared the story about her youngest grand-daughter Eliza who was diagnosed with eye cancer at just a few weeks old. Eliza is still undergoing chemo treatment and other procedures at Gt Ormond street hospital each week and the specialist care she receives is astonishing.

We collected a total of £245 which was donated to Childrens Eye Cancer Trust and Royal National Institute for the Blind. Lainey and Chloe raised £50 for the charity which supports Eliza by selling refreshments to their neighbours over one weekend. CHECT were so delighted they sent a certificate of thanks to the girls.

Mrs Knox welcomed the opportunity to publicise the warning signs of retino blastoma, which Eliza has, as early treatment is essential in this condition. Thanks for all your contributions.
