Once again, North Lakes has had real success in local, area and county competitions. This year’s teams of all girls have worked hard to perfect routines, vaults and body management sequences and performed at a very high standard.

Looking smart in their leotards and jazzy hair styles, the first round (Penrith competition) saw both teams finish first, progressing through to the Eden Final.

A week later, at the Eden Final, competition toughened, but the girls showed their resilience to snatch extra marks as it was going to be tight. Our Y3/4 team performed really well and came 2nd just narrowly missing out by 0.2 of a mark from a place in the county final! The Y5/6 team perfected their vaults and floor routines and came first, securing a place in the Cumbria School Games County final.

The County Final was an exciting, prestigious event run by Active Cumbria and once again our gym stars shone. The girls worked really hard showing determination, concentration and self-belief, representing Eden and performing brilliantly to finish in third place in Cumbria overall.

We are so proud of both teams who have displayed skill, courage, perseverance and great determination over the past few weeks to be the very best they can be. Well done to Lola, Abbie, Mia, Isabella, Ellie, Mille and Lily in Y3&4 and congratulations to Poppy, Amelia, Katie, Ava, Emilija and Simona from Y5&6- you were amazing!
