Grasmere's New Interactive Plasma Screen [July 2018]

North Lakes School would like to thank several organisations who contributed to the purchase of an Interactive Plasma Screen for ‘Grasmere Class’ the Resourced Provision for pupils at North Lakes School.

The Plasma Screen is large and very robust. Children who are visually impaired have access to a larger screen; this also helps children with fine motor difficulties - it is ‘Touch Screen’ so the children can use it interactively. The new screen will empower the children as learners as they access curricular and sensory learning programmes. The screen arrived in early July and the children are enjoying using it.

It can be turned vertically and horizontally, even facing downwards, which means it can be used for table top learning, or with a child lying down. This versatility makes it accessible for children with mobility needs who are in specific chairs or standing frames - it even enables access from above.  North Lakes received generous contributions, approaching £5,000 in total, from PFK in Penrith –Christine Hullock, the Lions Club of Penrith, the Penrith Rotary Club, Story Homes and Penrith Freemasons. Thank you all!
