Four fantastic representatives of North Lakes School participated in the Eden Chess Challenge organised by Kevin Southernwood at Ullswater Community College. It was a superb afternoon with great matches played and excellent strategies employed. Most importantly, there was a warm, friendly and positive
attitude, where we all encouraged each other. The players were, Tom B, Lewis S, Ollie G and Jack G.
The matches were tough as North Lakes competitors played against experienced players, although our players learned a new move called Four Move Check Mate.
A Chess club is open every lunchtime at North Lakes in the library, new players are most welcome.
Kevin also runs a chess club which is held at Ullswater each Monday evening at 4pm.
There is a special Easter Chess Camp on Wednesday 10th April 9.30am-4pm at Hunter Hall School (£5)
