Coniston Water - Y3&4

Welcome to Coniston Class’ Webpage!

Keep checking back here to see our most recent news and photographs.

Our class has a mix of Year 3 and Year 4 children. We work with Miss Johnston in class and Mrs Collins comes to work with us too.  We also work with Mrs Greenwood and Mrs Pincombe for maths.

We have had a fantastic start to the year and have already produced some amazing work. As well as this, we have settled in well and have made great relationships with each other.

We are all keen to help and support each other and it makes our class a happy place to be! We are brilliants readers and love our shared stories from The Iron Man to How To Train Your Dragon. Whilst reading, we love to share our stories and learn new vocabulary. Reading helps us with our writing so we love reading lots at home to get tickets for our reading raffle.

Together we have created our own class rules, which we are all trying our best to follow;

  • We always stay positive!
  • We respect each other and listen carefully.
  • We always respect our room and equipment.
  • We always persevere.
  • We always give 100% effort to our learning and try our best.

To help us in lessons, we are focusing on becoming independent learners. We follow the ‘5 Bs’ (brain, book, board, buddy, boss) to help ourselves become resilient.

Our first topic this year is ‘Marvellous Metallic Monsters!’. We are all enjoying reading ‘The Iron Man’ and exploring forces and magnets alongside this book.  We will be covering many Geography, History, Science, Art and Computing topics over the year. See our learning overviews for more detail on the curriculum areas.
