At the beginning of July, a small group of Year 6 pupils and 16 Year 4 pupils took part in Bikeability training. With many bikes parked up in the scooter area, there was a buzz of excitement as students set about their various training programmes. The Year 6 pupils undertook a three day level 2 course. This involved bike maintenance, cycle safety and road awareness. The group were seen around town, displaying their skill and concentration to remain safe at all times.
The Year 4 pupils took part in a one-day training session in the school grounds. With many already competent cyclists, it was good for them to go over the safety aspects of starting and stopping their bikes and general safe riding skills. Many thanks to Annie and her team of volunteers who deliver this training in a fun and enjoyable way for all. We are pleased to say all cyclists passed their training and received certificates and badges in assembly this week.
