Avanti PSHCE Story Books (March 2022)
We are very proud of our partnership with Avanti West Coast who have provided us with resources to equip our pupils for the digital world ahead. On World Book Day, we received a mystery parcel of books Avanti West Coast have teamed up ‘Little Box of Books’ to provide a diverse and inclusive selection of books to their partnership schools to encourage and celebrate the joy of reading. Their mission is that every child has the opportunity to become a reader.

n total, we received 100 books (one of only 11 schools across the West Coast Line route. The books have been specifically chosen to be representative, so children see more of themselves in stories they read helping better understand the world and their place in it. “The books we feature reflect the society we live in, in all its multicultural and diverse brilliance, because everyone deserves to see themselves in a leading role.” (Lynsey Pollard, Little Box of Books)
Rydal Water have explored the books already and Avanti will be visiting us in the summer term to run Workshops with Y5&6. We are very grateful to Avanti as their support is really making a difference in all of our classrooms.
