A Little Bit of History! (Spring 2014)

This large shield belonged to County Boys School and moved to our present site when CBS closed and Wetheriggs School opened. The shield is made of wood, with a metal plate inscription as follows:

PENRITH BOYS COUNTY SCHOOL
1954
Presented by
R E REAY ESQ
An Old Boy of The School

There is an engraving of a scholarly nature – books, quill pen and lamp - and it is rather large, measuring about 75cms x 55cms across. We have taken the shield to Penrith Museum and they will either add it to their stock or find a suitable place to display it.
