Y5&6 Indoor Athletics (Nov 2017)
After working hard in curriculum time and training in all disciplines, Twenty-four Year 5 and 6 athletes went to compete and represent our school at this annual event held at Appleby Grammar School.
All children competed in four events, two track and two field with amazing energy and agility. We worked in two teams, the red and yellow team. Javelin, run relays, obstacle course, vertical jump, triple jump, speed bounce were just a few of the many events our athletes competed in. With great collaboration and some outstanding individual performances, points were awarded for all performances. Once all timings and scores were calculated, we were awarded third place overall; just missing out on a place in this year’s county final.
Our athletes should be proud of their achievement; it was a tough competition but every child gave it all they’ve had to produce a great North Lakes performance.
