From Summer Term 2013, a new school meals service started at North Lakes. The school has written a new specification for meal provision and there is a new menu with TWO hot choices each day, and freshly baked bread, as well as a range of drinks including fruit juice and milk over the week.
The food is ALL freshly cooked on the premises with as much local produce as possible, and exciting new features will include new crockery, trays and an all new salad bar.
WHY NOT GIVE THE NEW MEALS SERVICE A TRY?
The price of school meals is £2.20 a day, and we believe this is excellent value. School meals are healthy and your support for this service helps the children’s learning as well as helping the school financially too.
Some parents prefer to send their child with a packed lunch. If this is the case, please remember that packed lunches should provide a healthy balance of food groups and a suitable drink. This really helps children’s learning and their behaviour. We ask that nuts, sweets, chocolate, fried crisps and fizzy drinks are not sent into school.
