There is no stopping NLS mathematicians when it comes to Sumdog! Many of our mathematicians have again finished in the top 50 in this term's Cumbria Contest.

Elterwater Maths Group won 2nd place with 755 points; Bassenthwaite Maths Group were 3rd (491pts), Rydal Water Maths group took 4th (417pts), Ullswater Maths Group 7th (344pts) and Buttermere Maths Group 8th (343pts) in Cumbria!

It is a great achievement to have so many of our classes in the Cumbrian Top 10! Daily winners in the contest included Bassenthwaite, Elterwater and Rydal. The congratulations don’t stop there, as North Lakes also had 17 of the top 50 students in Cumbria!

Each competitor could answer a maximum of 1000 questions each. Ewan G (Y4) was 1st in Cumbria, with a tremendous 972 correct – this is one of the highest scores we have ever had! Alfie (Y6) was 4th with 949 questions correct.  Congratulations must go to both of you! 

Children really need to visit Sumdog on a regular basis as it helps to develop and revise their basic Maths and Literacy Skills - it is proven to sharpen our skills and it is great fun. Play games against class mates, other schools and even the world! It is available to all pupils all summer too!
