Governors' Corner (Summer 2021)

Without a doubt, this has been an unusual and challenging year for all at the school and we would like to express our sincere thanks to all parents and carers in supporting the school during this year.  At times it has not been easy with some extended periods of home learning and some periods of isolation for pupils and staff.  The arrangements that the school have put in place to minimise the risks to all have been successful.

The Governors set up a COVID-19 group who met at regular intervals (online) to review the arrangements with the school leadership team and to approve, where necessary, the purchasing of equipment and facilities to ensure the safety of all.  This was our highest priority for the school, and we would like to thank all the staff at the school for their diligence in carrying out the required protocols.

As a result of the situation, Governors have not been able to carry out their regular visits to see the school and the pupils which has all had to be carried out by telephone and online meetings.  We really hope that come September, the situation will allow these regular visits to continue.

On the Governor front, John Lancaster’s term of office as a parent Governor came to end and we would like to thank him for all the work he has done for the governing body and the school.  We are pleased to welcome Katie Allen as the new parent governor who brings with her a wealth of experience in the area of safeguarding, and we look forward to working with her.

We trust that you will all have an enjoyable summer holiday and that things will be somewhat closer to normal when school returns in September.

Once again, many thanks for all your support
