Y4 DG Football Tournament

What an amazing achievement for the Year 4 football team on Wednesday 19th May who were runners up in the Cumbria Football Academy tournament. The players showed outstanding teamwork and great determination; they communicated well and put in a sterling effort. The North Lakes team played Morland, Beaconside and Plumpton; finishing runners up in their group. This allowed them to progress through to the semi-finals where we played Kirkoswald Primary School. This was a very hard and well-matched game, with both teams determined to win. Some great skill in both attack and defence made it a very competitive game. After the final whistle it was a draw and went to a penalty shoot-out. North Lakes secured the victory, and were rewarded with a place in the final.

They played Plumpton once more. The whole team pulled together with great North Lakes School spirit and focus. They played an outstanding match, but unfortunately lost 3-1. They came home delighted as runners up and made us incredibly proud. The co-operation, communication, resilience and sporting attitudes were outstanding. A number of parents and other schools commented on the brilliant attitude.

Well done Team you all made North Lakes School proud of you!
