Friday 16th October was a colourful and competitive day at North Lakes School with the first ever Intra School Football tournament. The four whole school teams took part in two competitions, for Years 3 and 4, and Years 5 and 6. This was a great day, with children learning the skills and attitudes needed for team success. All children who wanted to play had the opportunity to participate and more than 90 children took part.
In Years 3 and 4, the winners were Red Pike, who edged out top scorers Helvellyn, with Great Gable third and Blencathra in fourth place. In Years 5 and 6 the games were very tight and all were decided by a single goal, three times with the last kick of the game! Great Gable gained 2 points and Helvellyn scored 3. Blencathra were second with 4 points and Red Pike were the last minute winners with 7 points. Congratulations to Red Pike who are the Intra School Football Winners for 2015 and well done to all for a sporting and enjoyable tournament.
