A Word from the Head

This has been a busy and successful year, and we are very grateful for the support of parents, carers, governors and the school community for all that we do.

As we end the term we are sorry to be saying goodbye to a number of staff, who have been a big part of the school this year – and some for much longer!

Goodbye and good luck to…

Miss Hannah Braithwaite, who joined us in September to cover Mrs Parkinson’s Maternity Leave and has worked tirelessly for the children of Elterwater class. Miss Braithwaite is a great team member who has helped the school in many ways and she will be missed next year.

Mrs Vicky Jenner, who joined us in January to cover Mrs Brady’s Maternity Leave and has  supported Crummock Water Class so well in their final two terms. Thank you for all you did to support the children at a time of change for them.

Mrs Alison Wild, who has supported both Coniston Class and Mrs Jenkinson throughout the year: thank you for all that you have done, for your positivity and support for all of the children and staff.

Mrs Laura Clark, who is leaving on a secondment to be Deputy Headteacher at Cumwhinton School next year. Thank you for all you have done for North Lakes over the years, good luck, and enjoy your exciting new opportunity over the next 12 months!

Mr Asher Hart, Sports Coach, who is now moving on to an exciting new position at Sedbergh School. Good luck for the future, Asher!

Mrs Helen Ward, who has worked closely with Mrs Greenwood and Bassenthwaite Class over the past year to cover her involvement as a Maths Mastery Lead Teacher. Thank you, and enjoy your new full time role at Susan’s Farm in Houghton.

Miss Sophie Page, who has worked to support the children closely as a  Teaching Assistant over the past term. Thank you for all your support, and good luck for the future!

In September, we will see some new and some familiar faces joining our team:

Welcome to Mr David Miller who will join us to teach Buttermere class for the period of Mrs Clark’s  secondment. Welcome, Mr Miller, we look forward to working with you and so do the children who will be in your class next year!

Mrs Katie Smith will be joining North Lakes School as a Teaching Assistant in September: good luck and  welcome to the team!

Last, but not least, Mrs Brady and Mrs Parkinson will also return to work after their Maternity Leaves – welcome back!
