The fourth annual Hunter Hall Cross Country Championships took place on Wednesday 9th February. Over 250 children from the Eden District, representing 18 different schools, travelled to Frenchfield where for once we were not blessed with glorious sunshine.
However, this did not dampen anyone’s enthusiasm on what was a great afternoon of running. The supporters cheered on each and every runner and everyone enjoyed refreshments when they walked back to Hunter Hall for the prize giving. admirably. Pupils from the following schools competed on the day: Calthwaite, Greystoke, High Hesket, Hunter Hall, Ivegill, Kirkoswald, Long Marton, Lowther, Morland, North Lakes, Penruddock, Plumpton, Shap, St. Catherine’s, Stainton, Stoneraise, Tebay and Yanwath.
There were four races, for Under 9 and Under 11 boys and girls. The course was undulating and challenging, but all of the children responded
Each and every runner is worthy of our congratulations for making this an excellent event.
