We work with Miss Johnston in class and Mrs Todd comes to work with us too. We also work with Mrs Pincombe for numeracy.
We have had a fantastic start to the year and have already produced some amazing work. As well as this, we have settled in to our new class well and have made great relationships with each other.
We are all keen to help and support each other and it makes our class a happy place to be! We are brilliants readers and love our shared stories. This term, we are reading Goodnight Mister Tom alongside out World War Two topic. Whilst reading, we love to share our stories and learn new vocabulary. Reading helps us with our writing so we love reading lots at home too.
Together we have created our own class rules, which we are all trying our best to follow;
To help us in lessons, we are focusing on becoming independent learners. We follow the ‘5 Bs’ (brain, book, board, buddy, boss) to help ourselves become resilient.
Our first topic this year is ‘World War Two’. We are all enjoying reading ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’. Whilst reading this, we are exploring the life of people in Britain during the war and imagining what life would be like as an evacuee. We will be covering many Geography, History, Science, Art and Computing topics over the year. See our learning overviews for more detail on the curriculum areas.
